about

Theologically inspired dark ambient. A meditation on the darkness and the light of God which shines in it, inspired by Catholic mysticism. The album title and first track title ("Et lux in tenebris lucet et tenebrae eam non conprehenderunt") are from John 1:5 in the Latin Vulgate, and in English mean "The light has shined in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it" and the track is a meditation on evil designed to strip away the mind's defenses against seeing the grip evil has on the world.

The second track, "Consecratio in Tenebras Gratia Dei" means "Deification in the darkness by the grace of God", and is intended to be a meditation on union with the Divine.

Addendum:

Let us recap with a few ideas here:

As a devout Christian of the Roman Catholic Church, I believe in a man who claimed that if one had faith, one could say to a mountain "Move!" and it would be thrown in to the sea.

How about this then:

Logos, the word of God, and also the Logos of the Heraclitean fire which would torment all with the light of investigation from the standpoint of not-knowing, of binding in knowledge, in notions of "what is". The two concepts have been juxtaposed, but consider:

- Logos is the Word God, which became flesh in Christ.
- Logos in the sense expounded by Heraclitus is the reality which is spoken of when one speaks of what is, the very notion of a reality which is the same for all and common to all human beings.

To juxtapose and oppose the two concepts, occupying the same Greek word allows the great Manipulator, Satan, to rule from below with his creation of arbitrary oppositions, BUT:

- Satan is a liar, a deceiver, and the false god of this world.
- Satan is completely dependent upon the will of God to sustain his existence.

Therefore, I say: let Logos and Logos resolve! Behold, when what is and is common to all is revealed to be nothing less than a product of the Word of God! See how the world is sustained by the Divine Will! See how the chief illusions of this world are a product of and sustained by the will of God!

To read, and to think one comprehends what is written: that is easy. But to read without blinders, without deception, how rare is that! God may illuminate the mind! God may reveal the meaning, throw aside the mind's interpretation, overpower unknowing with the light of Divine Illumination!

Let there be Divinization, the merging of man with the Divine! There is nothing more dangerous than man to unite with the True Light. Many are the treacherous teachers who would unite man with the god of this world, but to unite man with the True Light: that is dangerous.

That threatens the foundations of the forces of darkness in this world.

Let there be birth into the Light, the second birth away from the ignorance of worldly knowledge into the direct illumination of the Will of Him who is not bound by any laws, any systems, any knowledge, because he is the creator of that which man seeks to know, and thus not bound.

Does Christ require interpretation? Satan would have men interpret, but the Holy Spirit may reveal the Logos to men directly, and when the Holy Spirit has illuminated a man, he may speak with authority, for in his Divinization he has been elevated to the Divine, and a man whom the Holy Spirit speaks through speaks not for Himself but for God!

Word without interpretation, thought without questioning!

Divine Illumination is the Spirit of God revealing Truth directly to the soul of a mortal man, a bestowing of supernatural understanding which transcends the boundaries of space and time, and overcomes the limitations of the human mind!

Praise to Him who sent his Son to redeem the world!
